FxTimer

FxTimer Support

FxTimer is a stopwatch for F3K and F5K model glider competitions.

Getting help

Email feedback@fxtimer.com. The quickest route is Help → Report a problem inside the app, which fills in the app version, your platform, OS version and device model before you write — the details that make a problem reproducible are the ones easiest to forget.

Common questions

The app does not find my timing bridge. Check that Bluetooth is on and that FxTimer has Bluetooth permission (iOS: Settings → FxTimer). The bridge's LED shows its state: red means it is receiving no data from the timing system, amber means data is arriving but no phone is connected, green means a phone is connected. The app keeps scanning on its own, so a bridge that is switched on later, or power-cycled mid-round, is picked up again without restarting the app.

Can I use it without a timing system? Yes. Round, group and task can be set by hand — tap the line above the stopwatch — and are recorded with your times exactly as a feed's values would be. Turn on Training mode for a working window without a bridge.

My scores are not the official ones. The app works out the round's raw score, the sum of the counting flight times. The official score normalises against the best in your group, which needs everyone's times and so cannot be calculated on your phone. Task E (Poker) is not scored at all, because its score depends on target times announced to the timekeeper that the app never sees.

Entering times into Gliderscore or F3XVault. Scan the QR code on your scorecard, then open Export after finishing a round. The app fills the time fields on your own self-entry page; you press that site's Save or Submit button yourself. If the page is showing a different round from the one you flew, the app deliberately fills nothing and tells you so.

Tips are unavailable. The tip options need the store to be reachable and are unavailable in development builds.
