FxTimer Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

FxTimer is a stopwatch for F3K and F5K model glider competitions, published by Cornelius Munz.

The short version

FxTimer collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server belonging to FxTimer for anything to be sent to. Your flight times stay on your phone.

What the app stores, and where

WhatWhere it is kept
Recorded rounds — flight times, round, group, task, dateOn your device only
Settings and preferencesOn your device only
Whether you have been asked to rate the appOn your device only

All of it is written to your device's own storage. None of it is transmitted to the developer. Deleting the app removes it. You can delete individual rounds, or all of them, from within the app at any time.

Permissions, and why each is asked for

Bluetooth. FxTimer connects to a timing bridge at the flight line to receive the round, group, task and working window broadcast by the competition's timing system. It only ever receives; nothing about you is transmitted, and the bridge holds no personal data. Bluetooth is never used to determine your location, and the app does not request location permission on iOS.

Camera. Used solely to read the QR code printed on your scorecard, which identifies the event and pilot for score entry. Images are processed on the device as the code is decoded and are never stored, uploaded or retained.

When you choose to send something

Three parts of the app reach outside it, and each only when you ask:

Entering scores. After a round you may open your scoring page — Gliderscore or F3XVault — inside the app to enter your times. That page is the scoring site's own, shown in a web view, and anything you do there is between you and that site under their privacy policy, not this one. If you sign in, your credentials go directly to that site; FxTimer neither sees nor stores them. The app fills in the time fields and never submits the form — you press the site's own Save or Submit button.

Feedback and bug reports. These open a new message in your own mail app, pre-filled with the app version, your platform, OS version and device model, so that a problem can be reproduced. Nothing is sent until you send it, you can edit or delete anything first, and the message goes to the developer by ordinary email.

Tips. The optional tips are in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple or Google. FxTimer never sees your payment details. Those transactions are covered by Apple's and Google's privacy policies.

Children

FxTimer is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.
